Annotation Two

 The evidence provided for this objective is the class work and homework that I developed for the math class I taught.  I followed the theme of the lesson so that the class was not thrown off track.  The lesson had to do with calories and how to calculate them.  The sheets I provided the class had the definition of a calorie in terms the boys would understand, the equations for how to calculate calories, and problems that I tried to relate to real life.

I demonstrated leadership by taking control of the class when it got out of hand.  There were a lot of complaints, like always, and the boys did not want to do the work.  To be honest, I was a little frustrated but I tried to remain enthusiastic and calm throughout the entire class.  With the enthusiasm and persistence that students finally settled down enough to complete the class work.  Through my research, I learned that a good leader faces challenging situations with a calm demeanor.  I had previously taken a leadership class in which I heard some of the characteristics of a good leader.  Some of the characteristics include, good character and trustworthiness, enthusiasm and confidence.  A good leader stays calm and collected during times of uncertainty, goal oriented, and is committed to excellence.

I tried to better exhibit those characteristics into my everyday life and tried to demonstrate them in the class I taught.  As I mentioned before, the first math class I taught was difficult and I learned that it is important to take charge from the beginning.  I learned that communication is a large part of being a leader, also, being able to motivate others is important.  People can be leaders of many different situations.  In the classroom was the kind of situation that I was able to practice in at my internship.  Being a good leader and being looked at as a role model is something that I want to constantly be better at, so executing what I learned at my internship was very beneficial.
